Will the Sonex work for a big guy as a single place?

You be the judge.

Eric S, the owner of this beautiful Sonex graciously offered to let "big guy" John M. try it on for size.

Eric is of "typical" EAA stature,  (shown in the foreground,  near the cockpit) where as John is,  approaching twice his size.

John puts on his plane just like anyone else...  one leg at a time.

Eric has his seat pan adjusted a bit high for John,  and although I don't have a photo of it in this series,  Eric did shut the canopy on John,  and he fit.

When John builds his with the seat pan a bit lower,  he should fit perfectly,  even with headphones in place

Eric's plane has dual side sticks,  and John needed to squeeze his legs between them.

John will be building his plane utilizing a single center stick.  John's plans include a dual rudder pedal arrangement, and he'll place his feet on the outer pedals.  This arrangement makes the plane either a single place for "big guys",  or a 2 place for typical EAA size folk,  so that he may allow other's to fly his plane.
